ā° Productive Impatience
I donāt fish.
But I do put fishing lines out š£
This last week has taught me the importance of having hundreds, and hundreds, and hundreds of lines all out at the same time.
Welcome back, this is Week 14 of The Unicorn Founder, and yes, I have been busy, with a lot.
We just got an upgradeā¦ hope you like it, if not, well you can send your complaints through, will try and give them some attention ā but highly, highly unlikely hehe ā kidding, this is always, always a work-in-progress.
This Weekās Update Overview:
š§¼ The Clean-Up: A little showcase of what I have changed, upgraded ā and hopefully improved ā about how The Unicorn Founder was branding itself.
š± The Power of Facebook Groups: Where intuition combines with chance and actually leads to a favourable outcome resulting.
š„ Events, Meet-Ups & Learnings: A lot of diversity here, but a lot of depth as wellā¦ and a few powerful takeaways š
š» The Startupās Web Positioning: How I am benefitting from having honest people around me and what Iām doing with the brand positioning of CasperAI + the very intelligent rationale š§
š§¼ The Clean-Up:
I very quickly, very unashamedly, and very averagely built the initial website for the unicorn founder ā I wasnāt concerned with wasting time on unnecessary tasks.
But, I decided to dedicate a a few hours on Monday to redesign it all, to make it something I was proud of as I started getting more and more people coming to view the site.
Iām still iterating as I go, so thereāll definitely be more improvements along the way.
But the fundamental philosophy: Focus on the essential. Everything else is auxiliary.
Meaning: All my time, energy, and effort goes into needle-moving activities, nothing else which actually serves as a distraction.
Why?
Because Iām trying to move as fast as possible, without being recklessly hasty.
So this is the new, minimalist landing page. No Fluff.
And the new logo.
I just wanted something a bit cleaner ā okay, enough of that, onto the more important thingsā¦
š± The Power of Facebook Groups:
Last week Friday I joined 20 something facebook groups and sent them all an intro post:
This was my best performing post, in the group that yielded the most results.
A lot of the groups were filled with shallow promotions and nobody really having meaningful discussions ā which is what I wanted to find with my intro post.
The owner of the group ā who engaged with me in the above-mentioned post ā obviously went to visit my other social media platforms where I very explicitly post about what Iām buildingā¦
And he gave me the go-ahead to post my āservicesā in his group.
That was the perfect opportunity to in a (very important) non-threatening and salesy manner promote what I had built for estate agents.
So, I created a completely personalised video for that specific group:
I mentioned people I had engaged with, the groupās name and values, and made it feel just really personal to all those estate agents lol.
I got a lot of leads from this one post ā around 25 solid leads.
Sometimes just a little bit of extra effort and time can yield more results than you couldāve gotten elsewhere.
I experimented with Reddit and Quora, but those havenāt yielded as many results yet ā trying something new with Reddit this week coming.
And absolutely doubling down on finding high-quality facebook groups to go get connected with.
š„ Events, Meet-Ups & Learnings:
Everywhere I go now becomes an incredible opportunity to just get my name and face associated with hyper-realistic AI automating humans.
Tuesday Night
I went to an EO (Entrepreneurās Organisation) event which was all around figuring out this thing called finding happiness in our lives.
Very interesting talk.
In case youāre wondering, this is the formula for happiness youāve been missing.
But basically: You find happiness not in one single activity, but in learning to love yourself which allows you to raise your baseline level of happiness.
Thatās not the point of this share though ā the point is that whilst I was at the event I met a lot of interesting people, who were more interested in the AI and how it can be brought into their business š
There are opportunities EVERYWHERE.
Wednesday Night
a group of young entrepreneurs in Cape Town met up for the monthly dinner and that was just a perfect reminder of the importance of finding and building your circle of people.
It was my first time attending the monthly dinners, but yeah damn, what an insane group of guys.
I very rarely go out anywhere lol ā so these moments are extremely enjoyable and powerful to really connect on a deep level with meaningful people whilst taking a moment to appreciate what has been achieved so far.
And then some really cool meetings that came from proactive networking:
Debt Collection needs an AI Caller:
This came from attending an event last week, which just by point of mentioning that I am using AI in some shape and form, got an intro to a guy who is needing to find some AI solutions in this industry.
Weāll see what comes of it ā and although itās not specifically in real estate, I am super open to testing out the product in different industries
Learning: The real estate industry is my equivalent to Amazon starting out with a bookstore ā itās just the beginning and where we will build authority and trust.
Can we bring an AI caller into recruitment?
This came from the Facebook group ā where the director of this specific agency loves the AI caller and plans to use it for some of his agents next week, but wanted to start seeing if we could recruit more agents into his agency with it.
Hell yeah we can!
Just means the value of him as a customer has just doubled.
The only problem: we had never done a setup that he required though on the recruitment side of thingsā¦
But I said, āStuff it, letās just do it and figure it out together.ā
And he agreed! hahaha ā what an amazing guy.
Learning: Even if you havenāt been able to do it yet, just say yes and figure it out on the way, most times people will work with you to solve their problem.
Portugese AI Caller for Brazil Loading:
So, I found some ācompetitorsā (if you could call them that) posting ads on social mediaā¦
And so me being me, went and poached all of their interested potential customers who were asking questions in the comment section (which werenāt being answered up to 6 weeks by the company) and answered them myself.
So now I have around 4 big boy agency owners in my DMs from Brazil haha.
This all happened in the space of the last 24 hours haha ā and look, I donāt know how much this could end up bringing in, but the one guy has thousandssss of agents that he wants the AI caller forā¦
May have just opened pandoraās box in Brazil.
So letās see :))))
Learning: Speed is the name of the game, and if you wonāt answer your potential customerās concerns fast enough, someone else will and get that business before you.
An AI Caller for financial advisors???
Yep, you read that correctly.
Who knows what will come from the people you meet ā one thing that come from one specific relationship Iāve been nurturing is an āinā into a pretty big financial institution in South Africa to start doing some demos for them.
Met with one of the executives this week and itās safe to say that heās impressed ā weāre gonna figure out together how to get the execution part of it done right.
Learning: Never, ever, ever treat people badly ā everyone always knows someone who knows someone else, and that may come in handy one day.
š» The Startupās Web Positioning:
After having a great intro call with Sofia Castillo on Thursday, I managed to not only get a better understanding of who she is, but also of how I should improve my website haha.
The closest I can get to being in San Francisco right now haha
Truthfully: I built my current website casperia.co very, very quickly in order to just ātick the boxā
But now, things are speeding up quite a bit and itās time I polished the branding of the business a bit more.
Especially if I want to get referrals from people that have connections that would be interested.
So, now I am taking my whole problem-solution offering apart and figuring out how to structure an extremely compelling and eloquent website.
This post I got sent by Enja De Lange has been pretty helpful in direction-setting.
Iām mapping out all the different sections of all the different pages, and just getting thoughts on āpaperā (even though this is Figma lol)
Iām super visual, so thatās what working for me ā hoping to get this all completed asap ā ideally before Monday night.
And then we can start converting more customers right from the website!
And ah, how good thatāll feel to have customers come directly through the website where they can be educated automatically on our offering š¤
KEEENNNN
And then we need to start getting some proper revenue come in already ā Iām pushing so hard to get that going.
Letās see what we can do in the next few days :))))
